I remember in college one of my friends started her own magazine. It was a valiant effort that eventually ended with her selling it off for a couple of hundred dollars within 1 year. This was in the early 2000s. Imagine if she had this service, magcloud.com how much easier that might have been. The premise of this service is that you print copies on demand. Which means you can minimize wastage because circulation is totally  based on demand. All you have to do is to create a pdf of your magazine, and the service will “handle printing, mailing, subscription, management and more.” The interesting thing is that it’s owned by Hewlett Packard. I tried prowling through the terms and conditions and the “who owns the rights” clause. Seems pretty fair and legit, essentially you’re just paying Magcloud to be the printer and distributor. Although I don’t know how hard and fast this rule will be enforced, you do have to be a US resident…. IMAGINE the possibilities for political and social agentry!

Well…if anyone tries it out, let me know how it goes.
